การสำรวจความเห็นต่อแนวคิดเปิดให้ขายเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์บนรถไฟของรัฐบาล

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสำรวจความคิดเห็นของประชาชนต่อแนวคิดของรัฐบาลในการเปิดให้มีการจำหน่ายและบริโภคเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์บนรถไฟและในสถานีรถไฟ รวมถึงศึกษาความกังวลด้านความปลอดภัย ความคิดเห็นต่อการพัฒนาบริการรถไฟ และปัจจัยที่สัมพันธ์กับการสนับสนุนหรือคัดค้านนโยบายดังกล่าว โดยเก็บข้อมูลจากประชาชนจำนวน 3,055 คน ใน 25 สถานีรถไฟทั่วประเทศ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าประชาชนส่วนใหญ่ไม่เห็นด้วยกับการเปิดให้ขายและดื่มเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์บนรถไฟ เนื่องจากกังวลเรื่องความปลอดภัย เสียงรบกวน และความเสี่ยงจากการคุกคามทางเพศ พร้อมเสนอให้การรถไฟให้ความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาความปลอดภัย ความสะอาด และความตรงต่อเวลามากกว่า

Public Opinion Survey on the Government's Proposal to Allow Alcohol Sales on Trains

This study aimed to examine public opinions regarding the government's proposal to permit the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages on trains and at railway stations in Thailand. The survey also explored concerns related to safety, perceptions of railway service improvement, and factors associated with support for or opposition to the proposed policy. Data were collected from 3,055 respondents across 25 railway stations nationwide. The findings revealed that the majority of respondents opposed allowing alcohol sales and consumption on trains, primarily due to concerns about passenger safety, noise disturbance, and risks of sexual harassment. Respondents also emphasized that railway authorities should prioritize improvements in safety, cleanliness, and punctuality over introducing alcohol sales on trains.

Policy Brief: Impact Assessment of Extended Alcohol Sales Hours in Thailand

This report examines the impacts of extending alcohol sales and entertainment venue operating hours in five pilot provinces of Thailand. The study analyzes road traffic injuries and fatalities, drink-driving cases, community and public safety concerns, the burden on public services, as well as tourism and economic outcomes. The findings highlight potential health, social, and safety risks associated with extended alcohol sales hours and provide policy recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making on alcohol control measures and sustainable tourism development.

งานวิจัยนี้ศึกษาผลกระทบของมาตรการยกเว้นภาษีนำเข้าไวน์และการลดภาษีสรรพสามิตไวน์และสุราแช่ของประเทศไทยที่มีผลบังคับใช้ตั้งแต่เดือนกุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2567 โดยวิเคราะห์การเปลี่ยนแปลงด้านราคา การนำเข้า และพฤติกรรมการบริโภคเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ รวมถึงประเมินต้นทุนทางเศรษฐศาสตร์และผลกระทบทางสังคมที่เกิดขึ้นจากการบริโภคที่เพิ่มขึ้น ผลการศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่ามาตรการดังกล่าวส่งผลให้การบริโภคไวน์และสุราแช่เพิ่มขึ้น และก่อให้เกิดต้นทุนทางเศรษฐกิจต่อสังคมในระดับที่มีนัยสำคัญ ซึ่งเป็นข้อมูลสำคัญสำหรับการกำหนดนโยบายภาษีและมาตรการควบคุมเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ในอนาคต

The Impact and Economic Cost of Wine and Local Liquor Tax Reduction

This study examines the effects of Thailand’s wine import tariff exemption and excise tax reductions on wine and local fermented alcoholic beverages implemented in February 2024. The research analyzes changes in alcohol prices, wine imports, and consumption patterns, and estimates the economic and social costs associated with increased alcohol consumption. The findings indicate that the tax reduction measures contributed to higher consumption of wine and local alcoholic beverages, leading to substantial economic and social costs. The study provides evidence to support policymaking on alcohol taxation and alcohol control measures in Thailand.

Survey of Alcohol’s Harm to Others (AHTO): A Study of People Aged 15 Years and Older in 12 Provinces Across Thailand

This study examined the impacts of alcohol consumption on people other than the drinkers themselves, commonly referred to as “Alcohol’s Harm to Others (AHTO)” or secondhand alcohol harm. The survey included 3,927 respondents aged 15 years and older from 12 provinces across Thailand. It explored the effects of others’ drinking on families, communities, workplaces, and children, as well as harms associated with heavy drinkers and intoxicated strangers. The findings provide important evidence on the social and health burdens caused by alcohol use and can support the development of more effective alcohol control policies and public health interventions in Thailand.

The study “Perspectives on the reasons for alcohol abstinence toward developing an innovative prototype to promote alcohol refusal among adolescentsand youth” explores the factors and motivations that lead young people to refrain from alcohol consumption, including both non-drinkers and those with drinking experience. Using quantitative and qualitative approaches, the study examines the roles of personal values, social norms, perceived consequences of drinking, legal factors, and environmental influences. It also develops and evaluates prototype innovations aimed at strengthening alcohol refusal among Thai adolescents and youth, providing evidence to support long-term alcohol prevention strategies.

งานวิจัยนี้ประเมินผลการรณรงค์ “งดเหล้าเข้าพรรษา ปี 2567” โดยสำรวจประชาชนอายุ 15 ปีขึ้นไป จำนวน 3,909 คน จาก 12 จังหวัดทั่วประเทศ เพื่อศึกษาการรับรู้สื่อรณรงค์ ทัศนคติต่อการงดดื่มเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ และการเปลี่ยนแปลงพฤติกรรมการดื่มในช่วงเข้าพรรษา ผลการศึกษาพบว่าการรณรงค์สามารถสร้างการรับรู้ในวงกว้าง และมีส่วนช่วยให้ประชาชนจำนวนมากปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมการดื่ม ทั้งการงด ลด หรือเลิกดื่ม ส่งผลดีต่อสุขภาพ คุณภาพชีวิต และการประหยัดค่าใช้จ่ายของครัวเรือน โดยผลการวิจัยสามารถนำไปใช้พัฒนาแนวทางการรณรงค์และมาตรการควบคุมเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ในอนาคตได้

Evaluation of the 2024 Buddhist Lent Alcohol Abstinence Campaign: A Case Study of People Aged 15 Years and Older in 12 Provinces Across Thailand

This study evaluated the effectiveness of the 2024 Buddhist Lent Alcohol Abstinence Campaign through a survey of 3,909 individuals aged 15 years and older from 12 provinces across Thailand. The research examined public exposure to campaign messages, attitudes toward alcohol abstinence, and changes in drinking behaviors during the Buddhist Lent period. The findings indicate that the campaign achieved broad public awareness and contributed to positive behavioral changes, including reduced alcohol consumption, temporary abstinence, and cessation among many drinkers. These changes were associated with improved health, enhanced well-being, and household cost savings. The study provides valuable evidence for strengthening future alcohol control policies and public health campaigns in Thailand.
